tv via laptop

some of you know that since we moved to la, we don't have a tv. not even a tiny 12" with bunny ears. we looked into getting eyetv, to run through my imac, but we'd still have to pay for a big cable box and a monthly fee, so we passed until we know we're here for good and have somewhere to actually put the box! i've really been missing it, so i did some research and found that i can watch a lot of full episode shows with only 30 sec's of commercials here and there on abc and nbc. shows like ugly betty, grey's anatomy and lost. current season too - one new one shows up each week! does anyone watch shows on their computer?

try the usa network...Psych, you'll be rolling on the ground, it's great! I also like Monk, same place. I watch Lost - I'm a little addicted to it! That's ABC, I also watch Smantha who?

We don't have TiVo and watching shows on your computer is the next best thing! We just finished watching the entire 2nd season of 30 Rock. Love it.

yes! i don't have cable, because you can get pretty much everything on the internet these days. i still have a TV, but I got a fancy cable to hook up to my TV so that I can watch things on my computer and they show up all big on the tv.

pushing daisies was a fun one. 30 rock. project runway on youtube ; )

We watched the last couple of seasons of Lost on the internet. It's great if you don't have tv because you get to watch it when it is new.

cbs even shows old shows like family ties--love it! hulu is another good source for older shows. i've been watching tv on my computer for years--at least two. i'm afraid this may one day lead to lap, chest or stomach cancer since that is where i prop the computer up, but totally worth it now.

Oh wow, this is going to open up a whole new world for us! We have the little TV with rabbit ears, but so far only use it to watch Netflix movies (including season DVDs of Heroes!). Good to know we can just tap into the world wide web:)

We've watched all the seasons of LOST on our computer - we never have time to watch it when it is really on TV. I thought Ms. computer whiz would've figured this out long ago!

i'm a tv addict through my computer - i almost prefer it over my tv! much more convenient. I can plug in my headphones for a complete zone out if I ever want to. It's wonderful!
